Who Is Your Favorite Character?

I like them all, but my favorite is Shoshanna even though I need subtitles to understand at times.

I just discovered this show and so far have binged watched the first two seasons. I've been laughing so hard that I tear up. Shoshanna on crack had me on the floor. Pure classic.

From the beginning I loved Jessa. I learned to love Adam and I also really like Laird. He is just so sweet and likable for a bohemian hobo man. I really never like Hannah and it gets worse with each season. To be honest I hope her character dies in the last season because I really can not see her surviving in life. I also like Soojin. Her random moments with Marnie kill me.

Elijah, Jessa, Adam, Hannah. Marnie reminds me of my sister a little bit.

Shoshanna is the one I like most consistently. I disliked Adam in the beginning. I think this is because initially Adam Driver played him almost humorlessly. Subsequently, and maybe due to his success outside Girls, the actor has brought a lot of humor to Adam, even in dramatic scenes (like in the finale the way he said "Jessa! Come back here!"). I have always liked Ray although his thing with and for Marnie is a little hard to take. I like Adam and Jessa as a couple. I love Elijah.

Dislike is probably tied between Hannah and Marnie, although saddling Marnie with Desi is absolutely perfect. I often really, really dislike Hannah, but in ways I think that Lena Dunham wants me to. She really trolls the audience with her character. I think in the first season people weren't sure if we were meant to admire Hannah or not, so I think Dunham made it a lot more explicit when she's supposed to be insufferable. I don't like her that much, but I'm entertained by her. Dunham is a talented comic actress.

The scene in the bar when we first met Elijah: "Nice seeing you, your dad is gay." remains one of the funniest, best acted, best written, and replayable scenes ever.

For the first 3 seasons Marnie was my favorite. I really related to her attempts at trying to be the "adult" one of the group and doing her best to try and have everything together or at least fake it until she could.

It wasn't until Desi came into the picture ontop of her trying to pursue music that my love of her character waned. I get that it was part of her journey to go from supposedly "uptight" to more "creative" but for us millennials who entered into the 9-5 office life, she was the closest to representing that.

Now I'd actually say my favorite character is Hannah. I really loved the place they left her in last season and I completely related to her needing to fall back in love with New York again and to fight against herself to be in an ok place.

Shoshanna is by far my favorite!! She seems like the only genuinely nice, ambitious, reasonable person, who treats people honestly and expects to have to take care of herself. (As soon as she has graduated college). It also helps that she is played by a really good actress, and her character is hilarious.

Ray is my second-favorite, because he is also a reasonable guy who is more mature than the others. He is also played by a funny guy, gets a lot of funny lines and delivers them well. (The actor playing Ray is multi-talented, he's also a movie director in his own right.).The only thing I really dislike is his interest in Marnie, which does not seem to be true to the character in earlier season. I get that she's pretty, but she's also shallow, inconsiderate, and she uses him.

1. Marnie (despite her flaws the one I relate to the most)
2. Adam (I know he has problems but I just love him)
3. Shoshanna (th funniest and she seems like the best friend)
4. Ray (super funny, loved him with Shosh but hated him with Marnie so he loses some points for that)
5. Hannah (despide her selfishness and awkwardness I always sort of root for her)

I despise Jessa.

Jessa hands down. And Ray.

Ray. I cannot get enough of him

They're all pretty messed up...but that's the point of the show innit?

But Hannah is particularly disgusting with those gross tattoos that look like huge black and blue marks.
