Season 7 Episode 9 "The Newlyweds vs The Browns" The Brown family decides to play a game to see who knows each other better: the newlyweds, the newly engaged older kids or Kody and his four wives.
Sounds pretty boring but as long as there's nothing about the catfish crap..........
On another note tonight's episode is back to 2 hours.
Just started the episode and wanted to say Christine's hair looks GORGEOUS!!! I think that's her natural hair and I hate how most of the girls dye their blonde darker. Aspyns hair looks great but all the other girls hair looks really bad against their skin tone.
Well to quote the Church Lady, "wasn't that special."
Overall it was a fun episode, but there were just some conveniently placed questions that were deliberately placed to address tabloid questions:
- Kody is adamant that there will not be any more wives. "I've filled my quota." - All of Maddie and Caleb's 'practicing' paid off. - Meri and Kody are working on their communication and things aren't as bad as it is pictured in previous episodes. - Mariah's sullen act last week was just for the show. She seemed to be perfectly fine with her mother during the game show.
My overall impression was, thank God this miserable season is almost over.
I think I agree that this hasn't been a great season but I think that's because they are running out of things to have on the show. I mean, come on, there's only so many times that TLC can fork out money for this bunch to have a wedding and it be something we all want to see. AND THEY'VE ALREADY DONE THREE NOW. I'm sure part of next season will be all about Mykelti's wedding and Maddie having her baby. I also think they've made a mistake by trying to push 2 hour episodes(not all included reruns).
Terrie, you say that season after season. I think the stories are getting better because they're real but for some reason, the producers feel the need to overly produce and/or edit. I loved seeing Maddie's wedding and I'm starting to come around to Tony so I can't wait to see them make those stupid flowers. I don't like the 2-hour format either, but that's probably because TLC has nothing to put into those time slots. The bottom line is there's a reason they're filling those time slots with SW and that's because they have solid ratings. I don't think they are running out of things to show, it's just that some of the stories are worn out, like anything to do with Meri. However, I guess there are some people who want to see that - it's just most of us don't. I think the show will be way more interesting if they focus on the younger kids - the mid- kids.
The show needs to be reformatted. The constant re-showing of things that have already happened season after season is getting old. Sister Wives may very well be solid in the ratings for TLC but that doesn't mean that the show isn't getting stale.
I agree - since they have become more liberal in showing reruns, rehashing each episode is too much. But I guess that is their way of getting new viewers. If they show what has happened new viewers understand what is going on??
They say there is someone for every person, and I am happy for Mykelti that she found her soul mate- but I feel sick just looking at Tony. Can't help it.
Maddie and Caleb seem to get a kick out of reminding their family that they are having sex- a lot, and liking it....
Christine seems pathetically thirsty for Kody's attention. So sad.
I want to watch that episode again because my skeptical eye needs another viewing. Isn't it interesting that Maddie and Caleb used the same terminology when speaking about sex? Actually, the answers that were right were almost all 'exactly' the same, not a variation, the same. ummm 😏
Remember when they were choosing rooms on their vacation? Maddie and Caleb wanted a yurt so they could be free about making noise during their alone time..... 😝
She did the best if the wives. Kodys score didn't get factored in at the end. Janelle was last, then Christine, then Robyn, and Meri was best wife. And then Caleb and mykelti tied and Madison and tony tied. Can't remember which mixed oar was first.
Thanks, Maya! I thought Meri did pretty well. What is astounding is the other wives did so poorly. I guess if you analyze the questions, they were geared toward the kids - 'favorite pizza topping', 'favorite body part'...
I found it troubling that Kody and company felt comfortable that Tony and Mykelti really know each other so well based on that silly game.... sheesh... it was a parlor game about favorite pizza toppings and other meaningless stuff. If that's what they see as an indicator of a deep relationship, well... I don't know what to say.
But it was just a game, wasn't it and I thought obviously geared toward the kids and not Kody and the Sister Wives. We knew they would get any question right about food.
