what the hell is up with the music!?

the songs in the movie don't fit with what's happening on the screen... really weird, and tasteless; *beep* 'adult-alternative' songs are completely out of place with rape and voyeur.

I totally agree. It would be one thing if the song choices were deliberately ironical, in a sort of banality-of-evil way. But they just seem like routine soundtrack-filling fodder more appropriate to an indie slacker romantic comedy. What the hell was the director thinking?

Oh, that terrible faux grunge didn't suit any of the scenes at all. Just awful.

The guy who did the songs is a friend of the director. In the special features, he said they played in bands together in the past. I think Lucky was just trying to be different with use of actual songs vs scoring. Or something. I didn't like the songs in the movie either, though I did actually like some of them on their own.

That explains a lot. I thought the person who wrote about the band being friends with the director (I'm paraphrasing, here) was just being hypothetical, now you've confirmed it, thanks!

I've watched literally thousands of movies and have NEVER been bothered by a sound track until this one. I hated it. It wasn't even a matter of it being fitting. I just thought the songs were horrible!!

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

Hear, hear to that . In fact I don't think I normally pay a massive amount of attention to a soundtrack, but this one was SO out of place, I had to keep muting it to minimise my annoyance. Bad choice made there........

The music was annoying... but it WAS Jack Ketchum

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

I really liked the music. Although it did seem a little out of place
at times

I liked this movie, but I honestly had a hard time getting past the soundtrack. It was almost distracting. Very odd.
