Agreed! I just watched it today and was pleasantly surprised. I like that Seth Rogen isn't playing a wisecracking pothead. I do like those sorts of films of his, but it was nice to see a departure.

And Barbra was great as well. I LOL at plenty of parts, so I'm confused as to how someone wouldn't think it was funny.

It's because half of these people on the forums don't know movies at all. They're all 17-21 year olds who think Superbad was the greatest movie in cinema history. I myself loved Superbad, and most of Rogan's Apatow style humor (I'm 26) but I love his other work even more. I compare his acting in this to his acting in 50/50 which he did a phenomenal job in that too, playing a funny guy who is also doing some great drama work. And I wasn't expecting it to be as original as it was, I would give it a 6.5/10 or so.

I found it moderately entertaining, if a bit predictable. I admit I have a soft spot for road movies. 7/10 stars from me.

If a movie has COMEDY GENRE, then let it be a comedy....this was DRAMA!! misleading...i thought it was boring.

Agree, but I think it all depends on what expectations you had going in. For some reason this movie is classified as a comedy which, although it has it's comedic moments, I think that's the wrong classification. I'm sure many Seth Rogan fans will go into this movie expecting his typical humor involving getting high and fart jokes and will be sadly disappointed. This isn't that type of movie!

I hadn't seen the trailer or anything else concerning this movie and was honestly a little reluctant to even watch since I figured it would just be another sad attempt at comedy. I was very pleasantly surprised however. I loved seeing Seth Rogan in a more "grown up" role. I really enjoy him as an actor even if I don't always enjoy his sense of humor. Seeing him in a role like this was marvelous and I really hope we see more of it in the future. The only other thing I've seen Barbra Streisand in is The Way We Were but I absolutely adored her in this movie. I think her and Seth Rogan have AMAZING chemistry together has a mother/son duo. Some of their scenes were incredibly touching. I was definitely pleasantly surprised at this movie and don't understand the negative reviews.

Face it, people who like real movies will give at least a 6 or more, Battleship Arnie baby brains will give it 4 or less. That's the way IMDb works
