What's with the low budget?

How did they manage to make this film on only a $76 million budget, I am curious to know.
All of the DreamWorks and Pixar films of the last 8 years have been made on a budget at least double of this. Hell, Pixar took $120,000,000 to produce A Bug's Life, and that was back in 1998!

Soon these movies will be made in India and voiced-over in whatever country they're showing.

i dont know what some of you are smoking but this looked fantastic. the effects, surfaces, animation, clothing animation and texture, water and again various particle effetcs looked very impressive. comparing to something like epic or even brave this looked much better.

i actually remember that for monsters inc specifically, a huge chunk of the budget (well a nice chunk) was spend on making sully's (the big blue furry guy) hair move realistically.

i bet with a bugs life they were trying to do something similar (realistic physics) back when the entirely CG movie genre was still in its infancy
