Saddened

Saddened to see Christian Slater doing this kind of crap.

I don't see any difference in caliber between this movie and the Transporter series starring Jason Statham or the recent Bond movies starring Daniel Craig. At least we see nice cinematography and costumes, bright sunny beautiful scenery as opposed to others' dirty and grimy locations with discordant colors. The plot of this movie is just as implausible as those in the above-mentioned ones, or the Rambo or Lethal Weapon or Bourne series, etc. for that matter.

Really? Were you not paying attention? I'm not saying you have to think those movies mentioned are really good movies. Some of them are arguably pretty bad. But they at least seem like varying degrees of professional. This could be mid 80s made for TV schlock. I couldn't identify any degree of art involved in any part of the process.... but with actors who have done good work in the past. I'm hoping this was just hyperbole meant to disparage "action" movies. But man, this was just awful.

Paying attention to what ? I have never known you nor seen anything you had posted before your reply to my reply to the OP.

Lighten up, pal. All movies are made-believe, mainly meant for entertainment and escapism. For example, the subject matters of Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Lord of Rings, Harry Potter are all nonsense and unrealistic. If some people feel that they enjoy those types of movies, then all the powers to them. But if some do not, they should not be criticized either. It's not your place to tell what other people should or should not enjoy a particular movie. Anyone who thinks that he himself is a "know-it-all" is either a fool or a liar.

On the subject of professionalism, it is all subjective. Even though they were made well before I was born, I think the movies in the past decades up to the late 1960's and some in the 1980's were much more professionally made than current ones in terms of scripts, cinematography, costumes, performances and especially dialog enunciation by actors. Thank god for the internet that allows me to view those masterpieces from past golden days of cinema. That is my opinion, and you are entitled to yours. It's a free world, LOL.

One of the worst I have ever seen.

The Sound of Thunder (huge flop) meets the Dirty Dozen.

The mystery is how they assembled such a good cast to try to pull it together.

Christian Slater, Sean Bean, James Cromwell, Ving Rhames, Dominic Monaghan???

Slumming's too good a word. Kind of bizarre!
