Did you think they gave Gundam it’s rightful place?

In the book Gundam doesn’t show up the way it does in the movie, its actually Wade who uses the ultra man transformation but it had a limit, much like Gundam does in the movie.

However, there’s a pretty big battle going on here, it is mechagodzilla, the iron giant and a Gundam.

Do you think the Gundam came out as the strongest of the three? If I remember correctly, the Iron Giant was getting his ass whooped pretty handily until Artemis sneaks up and throws a grenade inside the cockpit of mechagodzilla, this had absolutely nothing to do with the iron giant, he wasn’t even aware Artemis was there because the iron giant was just an AI, or a vehicle, not an actual avatar.

Gundam did seem to be getting the better of Godzilla in an actual 1 to 1 fight and looked like would have won the fight if it weren’t for the time limit placed on this transformation.

Yet technically, the iron giant did win the fight in the end because he was the last one standing, even if he ended up looking the weakest because Artemis was the one who landed the killing blow on Godzilla.

How did you guys see this? Did you think they made Gundam to look like the most powerful item in the oasis?

Gundam looked clearly the most powerful... by a wide margin...

I say this as someone who didn't know what a Gundam or an Iron Giant were, although I had heard of MechaGodzilla....

Yes, absolutely. As you said, Gundam wasn’t necessarily getting his ass handed to him like the Iron Giant was (don’t get me wrong, the awesome IG was a real trooper who fought till the very end). Gundam was BEATING Godzilla through and through; the time limit is what ultimately cost him the fight.

Anyhow, the build up to Daito choosing Gundam was excellent. We knew we were about to witness something mighty, and Gundam’s appearance was just that. Epic inclusion.
