So how did Florence end up having kids?
If she's totally not interested in sex how was she able to conceive? Test tube baby hadn't been invented yet. Did her husband use a turkey baster?
shareThis is a guess, as I don't think it says anything about her having kids or a husband in the book. My guess she probably told herself that no man will probably accept her as "Frigid" as Edward said, and she didn't want to ruin her second marriage. So she end up having sex and that probably made her even more depressed knowing it probably wasn't all that bad. It's a shame we don't see anything from her P.O.V after the last scene on the beach.
