So... it was her fault, right?

MRS. POTTER said that MR. SLATER died all of the sudden when moaning the lawn. It felt like he had a heart attack. Probably because of all the stuff she made him eat.

Thoughts?

Perhaps not on purpose, but yes.

Maybe it was his fault for stuffing his face to the extreme, and not requesting a simpler diet?

He was an adult, you know.

No, no one can MAKE someone eat something. He was a glutton, obviously. He managed to be fat even on the horror food of the boy's mother.

"You did this" to me suggested brought the family to this rural outpost where the boy was unhappy and, apparently, garden services aren't like in town. Or maybe he was meanly blaming her for the death. Anyway, he's 17, and I am pretty sure I would have been much, much nastier at that age. It was very English and restrained nastiness.

I'm glad he escaped her and that place.
