Did anyone that has seen this that was over 30 years old like this movie ? I just picked 30 years old because by then you should be mature enough to know what is funny and if it has humor and/or just childish non-policital correctness to it. Just wondering.
Thank you all for your responses, I geuss from some of your replys I should have asked is it worth the $10+ of your own money instead of age. I wanted to weed out the ages 13-29, because they have the most disposable income , or someone elses income. and was asking was this movie worth your income to see it. I didn't want to argue over the semantics of age and what's funny at a certain age. I also wanted more then " it was great or awesome " responses which I have seen in other threads. and no real thought on why or how they liked the movie. From the responces so far, most didn't like it. or there was only a few good parts.
If you asked a question , please feel free to make your own thread an ask, don't think I'm going to answer directly to them. Oh if I insulted you due to your age, or maturity tough make your own thread and cry there. Thank you again.
your right, I wanted people that make their money, and that paid to see this movie to say if it was worth it... and 30 years of age was a good cut off for what I wanted and so far I have gotten. I'll remember next time if I do a thread to keep away from age in general :)
I'm glad you learned something. Maybe next time you will construct a sentence that will actually ask the question that you intended instead of a completely different one.
Since you're over 30, I think you will be able handle this next time.
You're not a writer Fink, you're a goddamn write off
Actually, I thought it was more catered to the not so PC types and adolescents who would laugh at a fart in a movie.
I saw this and I laughed, not out loud mind you, a few times, but it wasn't hilarious. It was just one of those movies that has it's moments. Very few, but it has it's moments.
Im 32, my father is 51... and yes, we both enjoyed and laughed more then just a couple of times... Also, I had to change my shirt as soon as i got home... Just was drinking my cola when the door opened while the double of Aladeen was having a good time with some ladies :P
spenceretc., I'm one of those many "not so PC types" and well over 30 years old. Political correctness is a weakness in society. It takes a lot of courage for some people in a theater to laugh out loud at policically incorrect scenes in a movie. However, bravery is becoming more common in American society.
i;m 63 and my son is 31 and we both found it hilarious . But there again we are English as is Baron Cohen so it was a very english style of humour ,, As someone who grew up with Monty Python and the great satirical shows in England it is easy to see why perhaps it might confuse the yanks who seem to exist on gentle comedies . Ther hasn;t been a decent american TV comedy since St Elswhere, and most of the American film comedies are gentle feel good films
Yeah I thought it was really good (47). There is a big difference from non PC humour and holding a mirror up to it, which is what SBC does all the time. His company is Four by two. Was some of the humour uncomfortable, yes, should it be, yes. Was it his best work, no.
Only when the last tree has died & the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money
I'm 33, father of two, non religious, liberal-ish, with a good sense of humour and not easily offended.
This movie was dull.
The helicopter scene was uninspiring comedy. After the first subtitled joke you kind of knew where it was going and the script sort of was just random just to play on the same theme.
Best scene, the one I actually laughed out loud, was the birth scene. All other jokes I may have smiled but most were just not funny.
The whole time I kept thinking to myself "didn't Adam Sandler do this exact same movie a few years ago?"
Next birthday, I'm double 30 (yikes...) and I laughed a lot. It is an odd verdict as this is not a memorable film (Borat still my favorite, with Taladega Nights my favorite performance of his), but I liked a lot of the scenes. I feel the whole was Less than the sum of the parts.
Bruno definitely my least favorite of his films, by a lot.
