How Much Input Did James Cameron Have?

I think this is important because it's Cameron's franchise and he's ultimately responsible for the end result.

I heard Cameron guest directed one scene. You can tell it was his scene because it's in 3D and the script digresses sharply into a Pocahontas driven story.

It's not a franchise. This isn't a sequel to James Cameron's Titanic. The name of the movie comes from the name of the ship in the movie, Titanic II.

So in that case, James Cameron probably had zero input.

reply

Somebody could even make a movie called "Titanic" and Cameron would have nothing legal to oppose it with.

reply

It's not James Cameron's franchise. There were Titanic movies before his and the Titanic stories are all based in truth. Every film is based on the actual event, so nobody owns the rights.
How naive do you have to be to think he would have anything to do with Asylum?

I would say the making of this film had nothing to do with James Cameron, its not called Titanic II because its a sequel to his film, its called Titanic II because thats the name of the cruise liner in the movie.
