Just ok

The lead actress is kind of jarring. Her voice and acting style are flat, and she seems to be entirely focused on suppressing her British accent. And why she was considered so great at her job? Her boyfriend was a simp. So it really is a story with a lot of mercurial mediocrity.

She's a phenomenal actress, although I do agree the accent didn't work if she was meant to be an American native

reply

Yeah, I think she would've come across better with her original English accent.

The ending was absurd and played out like a femtard's wet dream - strong, empowered boss bitch makes insecure, emasculated man cry, dominates him physically and kicks him out. Looking at the director, I'm not surprised.

Can you imagine a 110 lb woman holding a butter knife in her hand and making a guy like Arnold or Stallone cry & quiver in terror by threatening to stab them? AE's character was pathetic.

Also found it hard to believe that they managed to keep their relationship (and engagement) secret in this age of social media.

It wasn't a butter knife as it easily sliced his arm. However, the ending was pretty ridiculous and kind of comical. She says he attacked and raped her, when she broke a bottle over his head and then she came on to him and took his pants off in the bathroom. Maybe there was more to it than that, like the director is trying to say something dumb like hey rough sex can mean rape if women want it to so be afraid! The whole story was kind of ridiculous. Why would she ever stay with such a lunatic for so long.

I thought the film was really well acted by the leads, but the rest of it was mediocre and average.

reply

I was using hyperbole there with the knife description.

I agree, the 2 actors did a great job but the script let the movie down and I hate how it ended.

reply

And with the guy's description too so why include it? Why not just say "imagine a 110 lb woman threatening a man with a knife"?
