...just after those whales started showing and the boy befriending one of them......yuck!......it was so cringy formulaic old melodramatic stuff that even kids would get bored.

There's nothing Alieny or off-wordly about this movie. This story could have even set on Earth with tribal inhabitants and modern humans.

This movie is the most desperate attempt at cash grab in the history of Cinema.

I don't know if it was the MOST desperate attempt . . .

The new Top Gun film was nothing but a rehash of the first Top Gun film.

The Force Awakens was mostly a remake of the first Star Wars film.

Etc.

In other words, any film that is a cash grab has a lot of competition in order to be named the worst in history.

Though I acquiesce that you may be engaging in hyperbole to make a point.

Regardless of whether or not the film was good, or bad, in anyone's opinion. It WAS a rehash of the first Top Gun film in essence.

You're probably right. Haven't seen Maverick, but saw some clips on television it seemed to recycle music from the original movie, at least. Not promising.

It only proves (if true) the sad lack of any attention span at all. It was a great movie, and anyone who didn't watch the last hour missed a great extended action sequence. I pity the fool. ;-)

I bought 7 tkts, 3 tubs of popcorn, 4 large sodas, 8 boxes of skittles and 1 bottle of water. then I walked out.

Based on 98% of the comments one would think they simply showed a picture of how much money it’s made and then you leave.

No one talks about the content of these films at all. It’s hilarious.

At least the first one got some discussion about the CGI.
