What format did you watch the movie in?
3D is obviously a must so that leaves:
HFR + Dolby Atmos?
4DX?
IMAX?

The last 3d movie I saw was Fright Night about ten years ago. The movie was decent, but the 3d didn't really improve the experience for me.
share3D NEC Laser Projection. It looked incredible.
shareI saw it in regular 2D. Where I live, that's my only option. And since I live in a small town, the movie theater in my town is more of a mom & pop/locally owne. Bigger theaters like AMC are a minimum of 2-3 hours away (and in a different timezone). But the closest (official) IMAX is about 6-8 hours away. I'm not traveling that far just to see a movie unless I'm traveling for other reasons (family member/relative getting surgery and I'm visiting or tagging along, wedding, funeral, family reunion, etc.), and I just happen to have some downtime and seeing a movie is something I could do. I'm not going on a trip just to see a movie. But yeah. I saw the movie in plain/regular 2D. I enjoyed it though. I don't need all these gimmicks to watch a movie. I also saw the first Avatar in plain/regular 2D. Enjoyed that movie too. Maybe I am missing out on something, but at least I can debunk stuff when people say it's ONLY a good movie if you see it in 3D/IMAX 3D and all those other gimmicks. Not true.
shareThat's unfortunate but unless you've experienced the other aspect a movie has to offer, you can't really compare the goodness of it. Sure you can enjoy it, but sometimes it's like having a LCD/LED TV which you would enjoy but never experiencing QD OLED. It's a sort of once you go there, you won't want to go back sort of thing, especially for the sound if there is no Atmos/UltraAVX-type sound system.
shareIMAX 3D Laser + HFR
high frame rate made everything look fake, especially the flying scenes
Btrfs
shareIMAX 3D
share1st time in IMAX Laser 3D, which was INSANE. 2nd time in Regal RPX 3D, which was still really cool.
shareTHOSE ARE CRAZY WORDS...YOU JUST SIT DOWN AND WATCH THE MOVIE...ALL THAT OTHER CRAP IS USELESS GARNISH.
