Yet ANOTHER money-loser for Disney?
This was supposed to make up for the crap-ton they lost on Strange World but alas...this one will end in the red as well.

Y s Avatar ended up a financial success but I was originally going on Cameron's insinuation that it would need 2 billion to break even. Judging by it's underwhelming opening weekend it looked like that wasn't going to happen.
It pulled through like a champ!
Credit to you for admitting your mistake, and you're right about the OW. It did suggest that the film wasn't going to do as well as it needed to, but my impression is that the international markets are what really turned it into such a success (which is great, speaking as a Cameron/Avatar fan).
shareIn the post pandemic Cinema world opening blockbuster weeks are still very much depressed (Maybe Top Gun is the exception?) and there is a new normal. The Billion Dollar club is going to be a challenge for films again.
I don't see any films on the horizon that are locks for $2 Billion and that includes the Marvel films releasing this year. There might not be a single Marvel entry that will pass $1 Billion even with Iger in charge.
Abd thoughts on shazam 2 queen? I mean you were crtical of avatar 2, yet rather quiet on shazam 2? As a box office analysis expert im really suprised you havent given you're 2 cents?
