3 Hrs. 12 min!
Forget it! I'll watch it in installments on TV.
shareI'm not keen on films over 2 hours, but this didn't have too many dead spots. If anything the first half hour skipped along too quick, maybe this one should have been 2 parts!!
I could have done with an intermission to stretch my legs, I could hardly walk when I got up at the end.
I thought the movie was decently paced overall. Once in a while it started to feel like things were starting to slow down, but then a few minutes later it picked up. But the last hour is pretty much nonstop action. So that last hour should go by quickly. And even with those iffy spots I was talking about, the movie felt 20-30 minutes shorter than what it actually is. I think that's why I said decently paced instead of something like amazing pace/amazingly paced. Also, you got to factor in that 10-12 minutes are for end credits. If you remove end credits, it's about 3 hours exact.
shareBe glad for EVERY Minute on a good movie! Esp. by those ticket prices!
Why are most movies nowadays just 90-110 minutes? Weak sloppy work ethic! Trash Millenials!
For most movies ppl want everything explained in each and every detail instead using a bit of own imagination and be creative for own pleasure. Just look the need for Movie Boards Discussion. 95% ppl ask dumb questions which were even answered in the movie or at least strongly hinted! Ppl still watch Grey's Anatomy... what Season 14?! A Football Game? A Book? What's the problem watching a movie for 3, 4 or 5 hours?!
I'm forever grateful what Kevin Costner did on the brink of his own personal bankruptcy not pressing/rushing Dances With Wolves in 108 minutes 'standard'! The pressure from the Hollyweird Studios must have been unbelievable.
On this note: Yeah Avatar 1 is totally overrated. It was just an OK movie. Should be somewhere in the big mid-range field in the Encyclopedia of All Movies Ever Made. Avatar 2 is way worse. Same movie. Just in turqouise. If you liked that wimp Jake (wooden Worthington), he's an even bigger wimp with a bunch of brats. The plot-poor movie wouldn't be any better in 90 mins. There are nice turqouise shots as eye-candy. The water animals are the best sub-plot aspect of this movie.
For truly enjoying the natural landscape the TV screen is to small. Story-wise it's not worth an addtl cinema dollar.
People fall for hype just cuz there's hype. No own free will.
My attention span is shot
