In the end, he's gets the ending he deserves. Martin, totally disowns him and will divorce him. Agathe, aborts their child cause she can't bear to have Tomas in her life and she dumps him. He gets his comeuppance and ends up alone. But really will he change, for sure he won't. He'll find another Martin and Agathe down the road.
Honestly I can see why some people don't like this film just cause how awful a person Tomas is. But I find him so interesting, maybe cause Franz Rogowski is so charismatic that you can help to watch him be a total arrogant, pretentious diva who doesn't give a damn about anyone's feelings but his own. He doesn't care for either Martin or Agathe, they are merely just puppets in his game. And it takes until the end for them to finally see him for what he is.
I don't like Tomas but I can't help but watch his car crash of a life.
