After Isaac's death at the massage parlor, when Tony Todd appears outside and Sam confronts him about what his deal is. Tony says something about how "he's seen this before". Referring to a group of survivors escaping/cheating death then one by one each survivor dying. I don’t understand.

If this film (Final Destination 5) is a prequel to the original film, wouldn't that mean that this was the first time deaths occurred like this? So how has Tony Todd seen "this happen" before if this was the first time it happened?

I don't think Todd was referring to any events of the movies in this franchise. I think he's indicating he's seen this from time-to-time due to his line of work. Probably a hint that this is nature of the world. Cheat death, and it'll come for you sooner than later. I'll bet it happens everywhere.

Maybe I'm wrong but he made it sound like he seen those type of deaths where each survivor died one at a time.

I think he has. He's seen people cheat death, and then watched death swing back around and do clean-up. But what I don't get is how does one person see that so much. That is extremely odd to me.
