I'm sorry but I could not stand her narrating

Blake Lively's narration made me hate parts of this movie. To me, she just became exactly like every 18 year-old girl who smokes weed for the first time, downloads every Bob Marley cd and talks about moving to "Cali". Because they want to make a living selling hemp clothing.

Other than that, I thought the movie was entertaining.

Yep. Her character didn't really connect and lacked sympathy. I actually thought that she was irritating enough that she had to be killed off early to save the movie, but that it would never be possible for at least most of the way since she was the "narrator" at the start. I like many of the actors here but the script is full of scumbags who failed to develop and who portray a collection of some of the stereotypes that make people think that America (and Mexico) are full of useless types who are a blight on world society and whose demise are a plus for human evolution. The best ending would be for all the characters to kill one another off, for which a standing ovation will only then be finally due.

Yeah she was quite annoying in this movie. She is a pretty girl but she didn't look that good to me in this .Her whole character was weak and that scene at the end of the movie when she comes from behind the truck holding that gun was laughable.

I came to this board to post the exact same thing. Glad I'm not alone. In fact, it looks like we have an entire thread of people who ALL agree, which on IMDB, is simply astounding.

Her voice was awful, her narrating was awful, her character was annoying, her acting was awful, and the movie was mediocre at best in large part because of her.

Generally, if a film has narration, it's already in trouble. Some films succeed but most often don't. It usually means the writer believes the audience can't figure things out for themselves or there's a story hole they can't fix.

Yup. Narration is usually a crutch for bad/lazy screenwriting. "show, don't tell" is becoming a lost art. "Just because I'm telling a story doesn't mean I'm alive at the end" or something like that. Gimme a break.

It's generally considered lazy writing technique to use voice over narration, of course there are always exceptions, but on top of it Lively's narration was monotone and almost lulled me to sleep.

"Gentlemen you can't fight in here!" "This is the war room!" Dr. Strangelove

I generally hate movies that begin with narrations, but this was one of the worst. Not only was her narration bad, but she was an unlikable character.

I agree.

If only Morgan Freeman's voice would have been dubbed over hers, this movie would have been more enjoyable.

LOL, I'm trying to hear that "I have orgasms and he was Wargasms" in Freeman's voice LMFAO  Seriously though, I think she was supposed to sound that way, she sounded like she was high as she narrating. Her narration was annoying at times but I still enjoyed the film overall.
