Any opinions of Season 6 yet? We're halfway through the season already sadly. I think it started off so so with Episodes 1 and 2 but 3-5 have just been hilarious imo. Anyone agree/disagree? P.S. I miss Karl but his return was great so I won't complain.
I really hope this is the final season, then they can focus on the movie. The show has run it's course, without the focus on side characters it's gone downhill. "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is not even close to how boring and cartoonish this show can get.
Welp sorry to burst your bubble but they signed a 2 year contract for Workaholics, and the ratings are way back up this season. So ya, it's not going anywhere for a while. And I hate It's Always Sunny. Ya know, opinions and stuff.
I like workaholics too man but sunny is still better. It's been nominated for awards and is renewed for season 12 while this show is running out of steam by season 5 (which was arguably its worst season). Sunny hit its best episodes at that same number, and isn't afraid to get meta. This show just goes back to shock when the writers don't know what else to do (count the amount of animals they've killed and get back to me - skunks, rats, fish, dogs, cats, birds, etc)
Don't get me wrong, works is a great show and a lot of silly fun. But sunny is smarter, funnier, and will leave a much bigger impact when it's all said and done...
I haven't seen that one yet. The last one I saw was the museum episode which was pretty lame. I think people compare sunny and workaholics because they're both semi big shows with cult followings, but are not on broadcast TV, aren't family friendly, both like to get dark and gross, are both about 3 guy friends and sometimes a chick, and are both aimed at similar demographics (although obviously workaholics skewers a bit younger), etc.
I can't think of too many other shows that have been around as long as these 2, and have as many accolades that would fit that criteria. I'm sure they're out there, but these 2 seem to just be the first to come to mind...

I gave Sunny three different chances and it just doesn't match up with my persona I guess. I barely break a smile for some reason, whereas I often lose it watching Workaholics. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Agreed, sunny definitely has a specific style. If you don't enjoy it, the show probably has very little appeal and seems to just be 'people yelling at each other.' As long as people give it a shot you can't ask for much more. I would still ascertain that in the long run sunny will have a bigger pop culture impact than workaholics. But again that's just my opinion/guess, who knows. Mind if I ask what specifically didn't appeal about it? The tone? Dialogue? Characters? Just the general overall tone? Just wondering as someone who's a huge fan - it's honestly my favorite show of all time - so i'm just seeing what points it could improve upon from a non fan's perspective...

after this season i'd say the show has run its course. episodes this season ranged from god awful (save the cat) to merely acceptable. whereas the latest season of its always sunny ranged from meh at its worst to hilarious at its best.
workaholics is still leagues better than broad city though.
