WTF happened to this show?
Season 1 was awesome.
2 was ok.
And its been down hill since.
Yeah theres the occasionally great line, but they are few and far between.
I LOVED this in the begging but its a parody of its former self.

I felt like there was a notable drop in quality between the first and second half of season 3 (20 episode season), but it seems much smaller now when you rewatch the show than when the second half of season 3 first aired in early 2013.
I recently rewatched the whole series and while season 1 and 2 are the best overall, the other seasons are still very entertaining - maybe moreso when binge watching than when you'd be watching one new episode a week and finding them hit and miss.
Even the first 2 seasons have episodes that aren't that great in hindsight, and some of the best episodes are in the first half of season 3 imo. Even season 4 and 5 have their great moments, though I definitely enjoyed them a lot more than the first time they aired.
I think it's also because this is the type of show that fans watch over and over again, so the newer episodes can take time to warm to but actually be more enjoyable if you watch them a second or third time as you probably have done countless times with the first couple of seasons.
The shows about the same as the first season, maybe it's you that changed. Not every episode is gold, but it's still fun to watch. Maybe you just don't know how to watch tv.

This is what happens when you have 10-20 episodes per season written by a bunch of different people, vs. 6 episodes written by a pair of writers. Quality will always suffer and characters (and the backstories of those characters in the case of Workaholics) will start to be contradict themselves. One episode can have a totally different feel from the last.
The show really just needs its creators to go through each script and veto all the crappy stuff. Quality control...that's all it needs.

Hitler was a dog person.
Somewhere around the third season this show slipped from stoner comedy into the same kind of 'you're only laughing because it's outrageous' cringe comedy that Peep Show perfected. By season 4 I was having trouble finishing most episodes because they were just too cringeworthy.
I want to laugh with the protagonists, not laugh at them.
I felt like Workaholics was always kinda hit or miss, I think the show's still capable of being funny, but the first 2 seasons were definitely on another level
shareWTF is this *beep* all about. Youse are all probably pretty cool people but sometimes need to slither out of your funk and just go with the genius that is this show. It's insanely on point with everything on a whole other expansive level of intellect and yet so simple at the same time. Damn these dudes are crazy and there's nothing else to it. Didn't want to offend anybody just wanted to be real with it for a minute.
shareInternet people are a sad *beep* lot. They are bored and calling for the hook as soon as their 10 second starved attention span hasn't been met with instant gratification. There is not one show comedy wise that I look forward to more, and it's been that way since it aired.
shareWhen I think back workaholics has always been hit or miss since the very beginning. It's just that in the beginning there was a larger ratio of hits versus misses and the misses were still passable. Now the hits are rare and the misses are plenty and awefull.
For me workaholics was at it's best when the episodes played like some sort of little adventure.
Like when they got stoned, stayed at work at night and set up traps for the burglars/nightcrew. Or when they went to war with a possum, or had to drink around the clock to not get a hangover.
Of the last 2 seasons only 'beer heist' and 'timechair' had that same vibe and were the only great episodes left, both from season 4. I can't even remember what most other episodes were about when reading the title. Every episode now is instantly forgetable.
I agree with another poster on here that said it turned from stoner/fratboy comedy into comedy that plays solely on cringe-humor.
I think I'm giving up on the show, just watched a few from season 6 and it's doing nothing at all for me.
Still love the show, Season 6 been a bit of a let down. The rest were great.
