WTF happened to this show?

Season 1 was awesome.
2 was ok.
And its been down hill since.
Yeah theres the occasionally great line, but they are few and far between.
I LOVED this in the begging but its a parody of its former self.

Who knows man....This show has definitely lost its charm

Dorm Daze from season 5 is probably the best episode in the whole series

reply

Ders getting his salad tossed by a dog? That was in that episode right? No way. The oldies are the best. "Now I know you want some of these eggs tyrone"

reply

What? That's actually a perfect example of an episode with an intriguing plot that went absolutely nowhere. That was not even a top 10 episode

reply

I just binge watched the whole show and thought all the season were good

reply

na, its going downhill.

reply

no, it's fine. Just cause you say something doesn't make it true, bud. The ol' stop watching if you don't like it is the way to go here.

reply

ditto bud. Dont get me wrong, its better than 90% of the crap on TV. But the first couple of series were in a different league. FACT! ;)

reply

Respectfully, I have to agree with session9. I still love the show and think it's funny as ever.

"Some would say, I'm the reverse!"

reply

No, that's your opinion. I personally enjoyed all the seasons equally.

I think either A) They aren't great writers and used all of their good ideas early on, or B) They haven't put much effort into the writing/development of the series since it's gotten bigger, though their movie careers haven't exactly exploded so it's pretty disappointing to see them start to coast after just 1.5 seasons

reply

When the show first started out, the guys worked as a team to write episodes, so they had full creative control and were able to produce quality content. Definitely by the end of Season 2, the show became staff written by talent that seemed to forget about the workplace aspect of the show. Season 3 was a disaster, and progressively declined in quality, which was the result of sloppy storytelling.

Since the show now approaches syndication, we can expect at least another two seasons to make 88 episodes. The network would be insane to cancel at this point, seeing they would lose a lot of money compared to two more sub-par seasons for syndication. Unless ratings totally tank inexplicably, I'd expect this. I'd prefer to see the show on the air than not at all.

As one might expect, this show is best served while getting weird.

reply

Yeah, i agree with everything you said. I would be shocked as well if it dosent get two more years, to make it at least to season 7. Time will tell, i guess.

reply

I have to agree with the OP...Season 1-3 had me in stitches most episodes, but season 4 and 5 were almost tough to sit through. There are still funny moments but I feel like they're losing steam and running out of ideas. Just my opinion though!

reply

I kind of agree with everyone the show has lost it's charm like prison break in season 4 but compare it to some other comedys on TV and it's not that bad

Its still funny to me. S5 was definitely my least favorite but it had its moments.

Come at the king, you best not miss.

reply

Well it easily got renewed for 2 more seasons so you whiners must be in the minority. Season 5 was the weakest (and still hilarious) but Season 4 was awesome in my opinion. If you are really that upset, then just don't watch. It's really simple.

reply

seasons one and two were prime but yeah the show lost a bit of its luster for me from season 3 on. but i've found that after second viewings the episodes are much better. i think it just take a while to process them. i still love the show but with two new seasons already confirmed i'm afraid they may run it into the ground
