Like It's always sunny in Philadelphia
Is this show like IASIP? When I read about and when I read the parental guide it reminded me of it.

shareIn the sense that none of the characters are likeable, yes.
shareI like all the characters both from Workaholics and Sunny. What the hell are you talking about?
shareIf you like all the characters from Always Sunny as people then you need psychological help.
shareI meant they are all funny as hell. Why is everyone so obsessed with wanting a character that is a good person?
This is a comedy for *beep* not a morality play.
You're arguing a point no one is making.
No one treated it like a morality play.
The whole point of Sunny is that the characters are generally sh#tty people.
That's what makes it funny.
I feel like It's Always Sunny is more scripted and less improvised.
It's Always Sunny is the superior show though.
In terms of both being awesome... then yeah.
Of course IASIP is superior but Workaholics is amazing in its own right.
It's probably the closest thing to sunny, but not as good. I started the first season when it had just come out, but dropped it.
Now that we have to wait so insanely long for new Sunny, I thought, "Why not?"
"Clever people will recognize and tolerate nothing but cleverness."
The shows are similar. They have a lot of foulmouthed talking and gross humor (which is fine to me). Also, in both the episodes are mostly about a string of mishappenings. I think, in Workaholics the characters are just a little more sympathetic, each of the three main guys is disturbed but still good-hearted (which you can't say about all sunny characters) and there are more stories that end up good for them. But "Its' always sunny" is the more interesting, intelligent and funnier series of both, I'd say.
shareAlways sunny definitely set a president that a lot of cable comedies are following in, Workaholics probably as the most identifiable.
I used to be the biggest always sunny fan but I think that it's been stretched out far too long without there being enough character dev to make up for it.
Workaholics has really picked up in recent seasons and I find it laugh out loud funny which I don't get front sunny too often anymore.
The league is better than both though.
I feel like at first Workaholics and Always Sunny only were similar because the humor in the shows appeals to the same kind of people, usually with a very provocative sense of humor. I thought Workahlics was a little different because the main characters, although morons they were kind of the lovable frat boys type of characters, now I feel like they copy Sunny's "These people are terrible and unsympathetic but they do funny things so people enjoy watching it" formula
shareThe difference are there: IASIP gang are scumbags who would sell you out for a pot roast or stab you in the back and then throw you in front of a train.....on the other hand the characters in Workaholics are just a bunch of goofballs who aren't really out to hurt anyone (except themselves in the process).
shareSunny barely makes me giggle but Workaholics makes me howl in laughter every episode.
share"Always sunny definitely set a president" Really? Set a PRESIDENT? Where did you grow up?
shareoh you knew what he meant, *beep* off
shareThis comment was funny in a IASIP way thanks! Hopefully the STATUE of limitations doesn't run out!

very very similar. i like both. but always sunny is one of my favorite shows i love it so much. workaholics helps pass the time go by though when its not on. workaholics just had a new wrestling episode almost exactly like always sunny did already

The only similarity between the two episodes is the fact that wrestling was involved. Other than that, completely different.
sharea few jackasses fulfill a fantasy of starting a wrestling match . did that happen in workaholics or always sunny? oh both, and ya just like that
shareThere was no fantasy of either show to start a wrestling match. Philly did it as a way to honour the troops because there is nothing more american than wrestling and workaholics did it to raise money for rent. Besides wrestling, very different.
shareSame target audience and that's about it. Same as Trailer Park Boys and The League as well. Insane hyjinx, drugs, sexual topics, friends for life, comedy.
