The Fart Scene
I understood the point of it, that they're coming to accept each other, but it was bizarre, awkward and really out of place.

shareI loved it. Probably the only scene I enjoyed...because it reminded me too much of me and my boyfriend. Haha. We laughed.

I understand that it could be awkward, but I think that scene was one of the sweetest in the entire movie. Not many couples are comfortable enough to fart in front of each other, let alone roll up the window and sit in the stank. That scene made me initially fall in love with the movie.!

I love your comment about not many couples are comfortable enough. Wait 'til you get older and can't help it. You don't have much choice but to get comfortable with it. A few other things you might get more comfortable with is morning breath and snoring. Me, her, and even our beagle snore like crazy.
Funny as hell to see her roll up the window. I thought it helped to show the contrast between Paige before the accident and Paige after the accident.

Absolutely, I laughed out so loud! And how he responds "That's freaky, but so romantic" - indeed!
I think it is a perfect example of the contrast of the pre-accident and post-accident Paiges.
It was disgusting. I was thoroughly GROSSED OUT. It was not in anyway sentimental to me.

My sentiments exactly. It was gross and I would let the window down more. Its human fact that people pass gas, but I don't have to inhale it to show you I love you.......
shareIf you're getting bent out of shape over a fart you're going to hate the "sh!tting scene".

That's how she show him that she loves him. I was grossed out, but it was a cute scene.

And you must be...what maybe 15? It was a good moment of the movie because when people are truly equal and in love, they can be comfortable with each other. Girls do fart.
shareMy wife and I fart in front of each other....have since our 3rd date and while we always laugh and act like 5 yr olds about a fart we always roll down the windows. That scene was ridiculous. No normal person is going to do what sue did.
shareAgreed. If I was her I would done the polar opposite and run from the car. Nothing worse than a bad scent from your mate let alone from a wafting fart. Terrible film btw.
sharethat was so gross...i literally threw up in my popcorn and couldnt eat anymore of my $5 box of m&ms the rest of the movie.
that was just...bleh.
very weird scene...for someone to purposely subject themselves and say they love the smell.....eh...rolling up the window?
i cant talk about this anymore
It was inspiring .. I rook the opportunity right then and there to fart in front of my girlfriend in the theater because I thought that's what 'true love' was .. I'm single now.
shareDo you believe in love at first fart?
A bunch of friends went to the movie and one of my gal friends fell in love with the smell of a fart in a movie theater by one of the patrons. It must have been you. You two should meet sometime.
LMAO, I can't decide whether that scene was more awkward or disgusting.
shareThe answer is "yes."
But seriously (well, maybe not), he at first denies it, so it's not like he thought she would find it romantic. Has this never happened to you? Unintentionally, of course. Come on, I'm not totally sick. My wife calls it "making a bubble." Now that's charming!.
OP states: "it was bizarre, awkward and really out of place".
Aren't most farts just like that?
who the heck would actually get disgusted by that? There are alot more disgusting things that are shown in movies than hearing about someone farting...
shareIt was gross. I understand we have to accept we all do it but who tries to purposely smell the other's. Ridiculous.

The people who aren't laughing at this thread need to LOOSEN UP! I'd hate to be your S/O trying to make you laugh but only pissing you off instead. Sheesh.
You are my life, my love, my only. And that's the one thing that won't change.
There's a fart scene?! I need to see this movie after all. I bet a lot of people suddenly find the courage to let one out in the cinema. I once had a girlfriend who thought it was funny to fart around me. She didn't last long. When I fart though, it's hilarious.
