Lauren's choice makes her look Shallow

just watched the movie and honestly it makes reese's character look very shallow to pick fdr

tuck was seeking love he met her first

he never lied he told her he had a kid his dates were genuine

while fdr fabricated all his dates with his fake art aficionado date and his whole animal shelter date

fdr only wanted her because she rejected him

fdr is the kind of guy who would cheat on her he is a womanizing playboy club guy

and she chose the guy who she had sex with over the guy who genuinely was seeking love chose not to have sex instead he chose to say he loved her

did FDR even say i love you to her?

for someone who seemed to be seeking a life partner she picked the guy who would be a short term boyfriend

her choice made no sense and makes her look like a shallow horn dog

I agree and I was disappointed too. I guess the consolation prize is that suddenly his ex takes him back so supposedly everyone is happy in the end.

reply

I agree as well.

FDR did change during the course of the movie. At first, he only saw Lauren as another "challenge" and used typical lies to charm her but over the course of the movie he began to have feelings for her. While Tuck was honest to Lauren (for the most part) since they first met...Tuck never truly got over his ex-wife which is what led him to Lauren in the first place.

No one is more suited for this job than myself...unless it's someone else.

Did you not get the feeling that Tuck saying I love you was a lie? A lie to bed her and/or convince her that she should be with him and not FDR. To be honest if I was faced with a guy who said he loved me to get what he wanted and a guy who faked liking the same art as me I'd go for the latter because I'd never trust anyone that thought saying those three little words were all it took to bed me. Also we are shown FDR changing throughout the film, especially the scene where he turned the airhostess away from his apartment.

I really can't believe they made fdr the choice. I know they were trying to make him into a "changed man" but almost everything he did to win her wasn't genuine. He had to pretend to be someone else to get her to like him. Very weak. Tuck was real the whole time. Even when he tried to appear more dangerous, it was still genuine because he's a lethal CIA agent, he just doesn't try so hard to show his dangerous side. Fdr had to fake it to seem deep.

FDR wasn't the only one with dysfunction. Tuck had his problems, too. He is British, after all...

Lol that's not nice okay then what if he was Aussies would there be a problem then?
Oh just to let you know I'd still pick FDR I like a bit of a bad boy plus pine is sexy as hell

reply

Agreed. That was bad on the writer's part. And I did not get Tuck and his exwife had anything left between them.

But we should have known Hollywood, people can't fall in love unless they hate each other first.

reply

Yeah this didn't make any sense. By all accouns, she should have chosen Tuck.

As opposed to a deep horn dog?

It’s called “redundant,” like “stupid idiot” or “illiterate internet poster.”
