Scarier movie - this or Poltergeist ?

This movie somewhat reminds me of Poltergeist. The very broad plotl is similar - child get in contact with another dimension/world and is being harassed by the beings in that dimension ; family brings in a supernatural specialist to help ; one of the parents has to enter the dimension in order to bring the child back.

There's other similarities.

Anyway, I find Poltergeist to be the scarier of the two. You...?

Definitely Poltergeist by a wide margin. Insidious is a poor man's Poltergeist.

Poltergeist.. This one did remind me of that movie also... Both are good imo, but Poltergeist has its "classic" status for a reason.. Insidious might get there in 15 years or so, who knows.. :)

this one. Poltergeist is more cheesy than scary (in a good way)

I never found Poltergeist to be terrifying, but Insidious was just boring to me. So if I had to pick, I'd say Poltergeist. At least they had the balls to use real human cadavers in their movie instead of a villain called Lipstick Demon that looks like Darth Maul's cousin.

Also, was I the only one who was waiting for Elise to say "this house is clean" because I know I was!

Neither scared me, but Poultergeist had a little more atmosphere and suspense, not to mention was a far better movie overall

For me, Insidious. And I don't think it's similar to Poltergeist, which I didn't find scary at all.
