Horrible camera work

Constantly zoomed in way too much, and constantly moving the camera from side to side, following every little movement of the characters.

This is not smart. It doesn't make you feel like you are part of it. It doesn't do one single good thing for the movie. It's just a lame failed attempt at making the camera style interesting.

I think with the Duplass Bros. they aim for their actors and acting when shooting so they tend to zoom-in on reactions. Actually, they DO tend to zoom-in for reactions. It's reminiscent of the mumblecore genre and how THEY want to film their actors. Kubrick and O. Russell are known to beat the acting into an actor, the Duplass Bros. capture it when it comes.

I thought the zooming would have been good if they only did it on Jason Segel's character. Because every time it zoomed in on him discovering something, it felt like he just unlocked a huge revelation.

^Hope that makes sense^.
