I found it much better then the first movie.

I flat out hated the first film, it wasn't G.I. Joe, it was Iron Man as an army and just wasn't fun, too much CG really killed the action and the characters weren't memorable.

So, I was really glad this retconned most of the first. They actually made me like Duke in this film, I kind of didn't want him to die. Dwayne Johnson was great as Roadblock, he acted serious when needed and he was always charismatic, and Snake Eyes was somewhat funny (especially in the Extended Cut) and awesome. The story was pretty simple: Cobra has taken over The White House and has all Joes killed, but some Joes survived and now have to stop Cobra; Seems like a good G.I. Joe story to me. Also this is better then the first for one big thing, it's an actual G.I. Joe movie that has the army kicking a$$ and saving the world, without that supersuit crap. The action (besides any scenes involving ZEUS in action and the mountain fight) had little to no CGI. I'm sorry but this film blows the original out of the water, I give this film an 8/10 just because it did what the first film should of been and was a lot of fun because of it. Any fan of G.I. Joe should at least think this film is a lot closer to the original source.

P.S. the scene with the flag at the beginning has more significance in the Extended Cut, leads to more character development.
