The significance of the electric toothbrush?

The closeups and cause of intrigue by both Tess and AJ made it seem as if there was something more to it as belonging to someone else renting the house. I guess this question is more geared towards Tess as she knew there was another guest in the house (Kieth) but still, just by drawing attention to it she "had" to go do some deep basement exploration. More importantly, why would anyone choose to keep their toothbrush so close to the ground?

I found that odd too. Who keeps their toothbrush on the floor of a bathroom...

I guess it was just more evidence that the guy was legitimately staying there and hadn't broken in.

It reassured her that he rented the house. It was not only the electric brush, he had small bottles of shampoo and soap on the bathtub, pointing out he was there only (very) temporarily.
