I'm 30 minutes into the movie and this woman has done EVERYTHING a normal person wouldn't:

1) Enter the house with a stranger
2) Sleeping in a stranger's bed
3) Drinking alcohol with a stranger
4) Leave the house, see that the neighborhood is abandoned and return to the house
5) Being told that you shouldn't be in that house and STILL return there
6) Go down to a creepy basement
7) Entering through a door that leads to a dark and creepy hallway in the basement

God, this woman is really stupid

About #1-3, the movie did a good job showing why she’s do it. Keith genuinely seemed like a good dude (and he was). She also really had no options. There wasn’t a hotel available

#5 - she thought the homeless dude was just some crazy person

Its not. She said "You shouldn't be there" because it was a dangerous, run down neighborhood. Almost every house was dilapidated.

Oh good lord sometimes you people are just weird the way you like to just nitpick at stuff LOL. Is the house not in the neighborhood?? Yes the house is in the neighborhood so that would be included in with what the woman said and with what the op said. Damn LOL 😜😜

Not nitpicking. Op didn't seem to understand the "You shouldn't be there comment." It was clarification, not semantics. Hope that cleared it up for ya!

Yeah it is kind of nitpicking. Obviously she means don't stay in that neighborhood which means don't stay in the house that you're going to. OP knew what was meant and so did probably most of us.

She had a truck to either leave in or sleep in. That's an option.

Leave and go where? There is no hotel or anything. As for sleeping in the car, she had a big interview the next day. She needed to rest, and she needed a place to shower, fix her clothes, look presentable etc.

Still, an option's an option. Look where the other option got her. She was very apprehensive to begin with. She should've just drove to another street and slept in her truck. I'm sure she would've looked fine plus she had a change of clothes and deodorant and all that good stuff with her anyway. Sleeping a few hours in the truck is not going to make you look all that hit.

The comments these people keep coming back with are just ridiculous. No sane person would find another person sleeping in their AirBnB and think it’s okay to stay the night with them. Nevermind everything that followed after.

Right. Because Detroit's such a small city (only the 27th largest in the US) and as we all know medical conventions attract millions and millions of visitors. Every single hotel, hostel, motel, boarding house would be jam-packed to the gills. She might have to drive as long as 15 minutes to find a place OUTSIDE the city limits.

There wasn’t a hotel available

She gave up after calling only one hotel. Medical convention attendees wouldn't be renting hotel space in dystopian Detroit ghetto neighborhoods. Her hotel situation was contrivance created by uninspired writing.
