Wow, Howl's Moving Castle, Star Wars, Hunger Games, Waterworld, Mad Max. There is nothing this movie won't take from. What it doesn't have is an idea of its own that seems like anything less than half-assed.

Agreed, nice to see you're seeing movies we both go to or try to anyway. The visuals were fantastic and over-the-top orgasmic but that was the only thing holding the movie together. For an average movie goer like me, I enjoyed it from beginning to end even though there was no real attachment to the characters themselves or much story explained behind them other than what their role was to play and to drive the plot along with the movie itself. A shame since this could've been a really great show.
I also got hint of the evil white Londoners vs the peaceful all accepting diverse city of Batmunkh Gompa when they went to destroy the Shield Wall. It also gave a funny maybe unintentional hints of the power MEDUSA nuke/weapon that spelled USA when Hester Shaw was carrying it.
Hugo Weaving could've been so much more as I admire love the actor and felt his talents were wasted.
Terrible patchwork but still, anyone who liked any of those shows or all of the above, it's still worth a watch imo.
