I did not understand why she had a Guardian, and what exactly a Guardian was in Sweden. Since she is not a minor the Guardian is not a parent or custodian, as would be in the US. And since she was on State support, the Guardian is not a trustee from an inheritance.
Could someone explain this role and how she became to require a Guardian?
In the book Lisbeth was arrested for attempted murder, placed in a hospital then in a guardianship program after she was released. The Swedish films show the same. Her first guardian allowed her nearly complete freedom, her second was very controlling for a while.
