William Sadler gives the twist away.....

If you've watched a lot of movies or TV, you know William Sadler.

The fact that he was randomly playing a bellhop/desk manager at the hotel, and in particular when he comes up to the room to bring some food, it's almost instantly that you know it's actually his dad.

Why else would they have a name actor playing a random role that wasn't somehow integrated to the story? Maybe the movie makers were thinking not that many people would recognize him enough to associate that.

So this begs the question.....

How does the funeral get set up? Why does his ex-cop friend believe his father is sick? Why does said ex-cop friend believe the funeral?

Doesn't really explain how they convinced the jail to let out a prisoner for his fathers funeral. One would imagine they'd have to have some certified paperwork from a morgue and also a run obituary.

Also, the ending is so abrupt.

Mike is dead, no one is sorry, everyone is rejoicing his freedom, a bar full of cops is apparently now indulging two outside cops. One who was just guilty yesterday and an IA informant.

Which following up, Mike wasn't in on it. So again, why did he believe the funeral?

Also: how did he manage to work at the hotel without getting caught? Why did he keep up the pretence when he and Nick were alone in the hotel room, other than to hide the truth from the audience?

Also, would the police let some random bellboy hand something to the fella on the ledge? What if it's poisoned? What if there's a weapon under the chicken? What if the bellboy is deranged and grabs that guy's hand when he reaches for the food and shoves him off the ledge?

You can kind of guess that Sadler was not hired for a bit part.

It's that man again!!
