I mean Really, is there any other reason such a talented actress would end up in such a piece of crap movie as this? She must have lost a bet.
I'm a major fan of hers and I know how talented she is. Broadway star, great singer-actress, cute as a girl can be. How does she end up in this P.O.S.? Everybody involved in this tripe should be ashamed of there part. I did not laugh once. How low an I.Q. do you need to find this funny? Horror? Nope. Gross? Yes.
I'm glad I didn't pay to see this but how do I get that hour and half of my life back? CRAP,CRAP,CRAP.
I think it' because she's fun and has a sense of humour (unlike some people on here) whilst also not doing the same old genre movies..... It did have a song in it too so that probably helped.
Best thought yet on this subject; if you've seen Anna on that lip sync program doing J-lo and heard her on any of her interviews, you know she's got a great sense of humor.
Oh look, a person who watches that stupid lip sync show thinks they can tell us what entertainment is.
I'll bet you pick a favorite "American singing competition" contestant and follow their progress the whole way. I'll bet you justify watching Disney movies as an adult.
Funny YOU know about "that stupid lip sync show". Watch it much, do you? I've only seen it once, when I heard a certain cute young actress was gonna be on.
Yeah, I was thinking "why would Anna do such a stupid movie?" (was that a voice in my head?) But, she is the best part of the movie (except it was sad to see her die).
In one of the DVD special features, she actually talks about why she wanted to do this movie. She liked the script, and as she said, she sees a lot of scripts. It's rare to find one as smart as this one, as funny and strange as this one, and even rarer that it gets made.
To me, it makes sense. Actors read a lot of scripts, most of them mediocre at best, and even more of them filled with cliches and predictable stories. When something a little different comes along that looks like it's getting made, then people who are in the business because they want to act (rather than be movie stars) tend to go for them.
Another good thoughtful response. (rare around here). If you're as good an actress as Anna Kendrick is, and she is, doing a movie just because it's odd is a good enough reason.
There are waaaaaay too many cookie cutter movies out there. Something different always gets my attention; I mean, I did watch this crap.
Did you read any of the other posts? I didn't think it was a comedy, as I said in my original post "I didn't laugh once". Everybody else on here tells me how wrong I am for not getting it that it IS a comedy.
I think the emphasis in your first line should be on the word "think". Go back and read it again like this: Why on earth would you even THINK it was a comedy? See?
Also: In your second line I believe your looking for fetid "turd". I don't know what a fetid "turn" is but I don't know everything, as I didn't know "Voices" was was supposed to be funny.
I found this movie to be one of those fun, quirky films... it was pretty fun... if you want something more profound and serious I highly recommend the recent films "LION", "NOCTURNAL ANIMALS", for those who love quirky films, I recommend "AMELIE", "SING STREET", "EMPIRE RECORDS"...
