I'm never going understand why people like this movie. It wasn't funny in the slightest and I blame Dennis Dugan for this, because he gives the film a slow pace that it didn't need. This not only made the movie feel longer than it needed to be, but it pretty much killed every joke. Not that the material was good in the first place (from the little girl's annoying fake british accent to the various *beep* jokes and other tired gags). Doesn't help that the plot is built entirely around a contrivance. Remember that Palmer said that she could tell when Sandler was telling a lie, yet in a later scene she can't see through his completely transparent lie about having a wife. Then there's the fact that they go to Hawaii for no damn reason and waste everyone's time. And I know you'll say "But they went to Hawaii because the little boy wanted to swim with the dolphins", but I'd like to remind you that he later says that he couldn't swim, meaning that they to Hawaii for no damn reason. Worst of all is that the moment when Sandler decides to tell Palmer the truth happens OFF-CAMERA, which is inexcusable, as it was the scene that the movie built towards. All told, this movie is completely terrible and it baffles me that people actually find it funny.
