Does anyone else not like Gene?

I really love this show, but I can't stand Gene! I think his fart jokes are really lame and too easy, I hate his arrogance and deluded belief in his own talent, and I think he's generally really annoying. Specific examples where Gene made me want to go "grr" were

When he wouldn't stop eating the ambergris
When he couldn't remember the name of Bob's Burgers during the baseball game
When he couldn't play in the right key

The list goes on but I think I'd look a bit manic if I kept on going. Does anyone else find him annoying? Most of my friends say he's their favourite character.

THOUGH having said that, I did laugh my balls off when Gene was trying to assemble that girl group in the casino and taught them that really rubbish song (Girls being girls being girls being girls GIRL GROUP) :)

Gene is my absolute favorite thing about the show.

You want some burgers and fries? You want some burgers and fries? Well there's some right here!

Or my isn't name...

I like them all. I know that sounds like a generic, fan-boy/girl type of response...but I honestly don't think that the show would be as good without every one of the Belchers - which, of course, includes Gene. They are all very developed and serve a function that's essential. Gene keeps things light and stops the situations from becoming too plodding. Without him there as the spontaneous comic relief, the family would be too dark and borderline drab.

I love them all, too. I didn't realize that was considered "fanboyish." :( Typically on a show there is SOMEONE I don't like or at least like less than the rest but in this show that hasn't happened. Even the minor characters...Teddy is the only one who even *sort of* irritates me sometimes. And it's only sometimes.

Gene's my favorite.

Linda, on the other hand, extremely annoying.
Obvious weak link in an otherwise solid chain.

All of the characters on the show are hilarious, including and especially Gene. As I've said on another post: Gene just marches to his own drummer, usually himself.

Annoying the world since 1960!

Most of the time, I love Linda...........................but there are a few episodes where I found her maddening and intolerable. Like when they were being kidnapped on that ship. She acted like an annoying airhead that whole episode.

Gene may have the least fleshed-out personality, but I do love his seemingly random one-liners.

Gene is an absolute treasure. Can you really imagine an episode of Bob's Burgers without his one-liners? I wouldn't want to.

I didn't like Gene at first but now I can't imagine the show without him . Gene observations are as good as Tina or Louise observations.

I like Linda but there are times she can be annoying, same with Bob.

I have to skip the episodes that feature Gene heavily. He might be the most annoying character on television.

I actually do like Gene most of the time, but I wish they made him a little smarter. His stupidity can be overbearing

I don't think he is stupid. He's just an eleven years old boy and he might seem a bit stupid in comparison to the very smart Louise.

Sometimes he's funny but he really gets on my nerves. Same thing with Linda.
