wow...

just saw it, and was completely floored. didn't look like an asylum production at all... could have been at the theaters. great acting, script was awesome, western town looked amazing! you guys, speaking to YOU (the asylum), need to start making movies like this from now on. if anyone has anything to bash about this film once it's released... you need a serious reality check. this one is the best film they've produced. things will just continue to get better at asylum if they go on from here (6 guns)....

will there be a sequel?!?!?

reply

Seriously? it has Greg Evagan in it that should be enough to ward off anyone.

reply

Nothing but LOL... =]

Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit shooting smack...

reply

just give it a shot. evigan was great in this

reply

Have to give credit when it's due. This was way better than the other stuff I have seen from Asylum. Thought the acting was good and the revenge plot never gets old. Worth a look.

reply

im 20 minutes in... its pretty shocking so far. the whole rape and murder scene was a tall one to take in. in anycase, i havnt wanted to turn it off so far, so maybe thats a good sign

reply

Saying it's the "best" thing to come from The Asylum is like saying "That was the best turd I ever ate."

reply

In other words, the asylum has always been, and will always be a lamprey on the buttocks of the film industry.

reply

It was a pretty decent western revenge flick, tbh. Then again I'll pretty much eat up any western, so... *shrug*

Snatching after us who smote them, brother,
Pawing us who dealt them war and madness.

reply

You just made my day. (I laughed out loud) :D

reply

Actually, this is pretty damn good for The Asylum, I'm impressed.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

reply

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING.....

This is the worst western I have ever seen....I wish I hadn't bothered and I love westerns.....this is not even worth the price of a blank dvd it is produced on.....You must have been paid to make a comment like that....Utter rubbish...

".....western town looked amazing!"

Not really. In scenes where structural materials are exposed, such as under porch roofs and the inside of Frank's hotel room, it's clear that modern dimensional lumber is used rather than sawmill lumber. Many buildings are sheathed with 4x8 engineered sheeting rather than ship lap. When Will and Selena walk in the door for his surprise party you can see modern romex wiring running above the doorway (which is not visible in later scenes). There are several modern flush doors used, and the one to the privy where Russian Pete takes his final rest shows the reflection of a decal that has been painted over.

Not to say I didn't enjoy this movie overall; the acting's not bad, the script is decent although it's somewhat inconsistant, and the story, while hardly original, is solid. But very little attention was paid to details such as BJ McKay's 21st century "tourist" cowboy hat and the aforementioned period-incorrect building materials, and I think that needs to be acknowledged

reply

You're right. I don't know what everyone is wittering on about concerning the acting, the script, direction, editing etc when we should be discussing how authentic some lumps of wood are.

The only lumps of wood I noticed were the ones doing the "acting".

reply

that is the best schmack i read on IMDB LOL

funny as well

I don't know who was Mayor - but they should get an award for keeping the streets so clean. not one bit of horse poo...

and were all the hinges, bolts, keys, and padlocks from Walmart ???

reply

I think you need to give some examples of how this movie is any good. It's a Van Dyke movie. The only thing missing is the old man Dick. Greg Evigan as the Sheriff lacked any real substance and should have had his monkey Bear with him to make his part more believable.

This is no where near the quality that the Coen brothers had with True Grit. The writer of the script played the outlaw which means that no one else is knocking down his door to hire him to act.

reply

I agree. When I saw Asylum logo at the beginning I expected a big fast-forward fest, was very surprised when the movie made some sense and looked half decent. First from that crappy studio.
