If you're tired of it, and want to lower your stress levels, then I suggest you watch films from the mid 70s through to the early 90s. This was a time when they made the absolute highest quality films, and film makers were committed to quality storytelling. No politics, no bullshit, just good films.

People need to realize that shit films aren't going anywhere.
My advice is to go on IMDB and look up actors or directors you like, click on their filmographies then look up any films they're in that might be interesting. You can find films mostly online now eg Ok ru, youtube or whatever. There's a lot of hidden gems out there.
The '80s were probably the era of the worst films ever made, with the '70s a close second. If you want to absolute best-made films, start watching films from about 1927 through 1946 or so.

Of course there are some wonderful films made every year, but on a whole the films made from the late '60s into the early '90s don't hold up to those made before or after.

This is a beautiful and sad film about loneliness, the trans message can be perfectly ignored, It works without It fortunately, even if that was the goal of the director.
