What would you do?
Kill someone else, or kill yourself?
shareThat's not an easy question to answer because I would have handled things so much differently than she did. Part of my issue with this movie was how she acted and reacted throughout, especially since she was a trained doctor. Having said that, I did like the movie for the most part and if, somehow, it came down to me or it, I would probably kill myself.
shareThe moral and right choice would be to kill yourself in an isolated place, ending the cycle. I think. Although I'm sure the demon would try tricks to stop you doing that.
Killing someone who deserves it is the next moral option, but you have to have someone witness it. Who's that going to be? And won't they just pass it on to more innocent people, perhaps killing innocent people to sidestep the curse? And you're probably going to spend the rest of your life in misery, incarcerated and/or knowing what you've allowed to continue.
lol having said all that, I have no idea what I'd do.
If you tried suicide, would the demon try and stop you? And if you tried murder, you would have to be sure there was a witness. So then there's a good chance you would be arrested. Maybe there's another option, that a sequel will explore.
Then there's always the chance that you could be the witness to another suicide in the cycle.
Kill someone with only one witness and no cameras. Lawyer up or plead the fifth and wait for the witness to die from the curse.
shareThe film didn't spell out how the curse works, but in theory you could find two people you deem worthy of death, and kill one while the other watches, and then kill the other without watching. Or, even if you do watch, it's unclear that it would matter. The curse *seems* to pass to someone who watches either a suicide or a murder, but since killing someone removes the curse from you, and you'd see the person you kill die, it stands to reason that you can kill someone without cursing yourself. Again, the rules are unclear, but if I were to go the "kill someone" route, that's how I'd do it. That spares any future victims, and basically ends the curse permanently.
shareHire someone to kill them to be extra safe just in case it has any lingering attachment with a previous host like how the It Follows Entity operates.
shareWell, I hope I'd take the option that doesn't hurt anyone else.
But these folks ramped up to crazy level pretty fast so who knows.
I'm thinking that if you figure out as much about it as she did before the thing takes her over, she could have killed herself in the cabin when she was alone and destroyed the thing since it wouldn't have anyone to pass over too. Unless there was a wild cat living under that old house and the evil entity can jump to animals.
Ti-iiiiiiiime is on my side. Yes it is!
If you were asked to give up your dreams for freedom?
What would you do?
If asked to make the ultimate sacrifice?
Would you think about all them people
Who gave up everything they had?
Would you think about all them war vets
And would you start to feel baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad?
