Fallen (1998)? I couldn’t help but feel like Smile used a variation of that same concept, and made it feel fresh despite the similarities. I liked Smile just fine for what it was, but Fallen blew my mind back in the day. Plus, the casting in Fallen was incredible. Jessie T. Usher couldn’t hold his weight amongst the rest of the Smile cast IMO.

Anyway, if you’ve not seen Fallen, give it a watch, but go into it blind if you can. Such a great experience.

(Spoilers). The ending definitely reminded me of Fallen with the whole trying to stop the entity by hiding in a cabin/house in the middle of nowhere.

Fallen was an excellent movie, one of the best horror thrillers of the 90s.

I have never seen that film but I'll look into it now. It reminds me of Ringu.

Oh absolutely! Great catch.
I was so disappointed when that ending happens in Fallen. Not in the movie, but for the characters.
