Be honest, could you have done what he did?

Even if dying slowly from dehydration/starvation probably would have been worse in the long run, AND I would be dead, I still think I wouldn't have the balls to amputate my arm.

Not sure, but I wouldn't have gotten into such a stupid situation to begin with. If I went for extreme sports, I would certainly take all the safety precautions instead of being a nutcase.

I think we all would if we really had to. It's difficult to envision, but we would if there was no other alternative.
