There was a scene in the original where the actors were running away from their tents and Heather screams "What the fvck is that?!", and the camera was supposed to pan to the left and reveal the witch briefly, wearing a white gown. Unfortunately (or fortunately for some) the actor holding the camera forgot to move the camera to show her.. I wonder if the movie would have been as effective if that scene was shot correctly.
"There's not a door that beauty can't open."
Yes it was. Read the trivia on the first movie, the actor never used that camera before thus shotty footage and he missed capturing the witch which was suppose to be either the director or someone on set at the time dressed like the witch.
First of all, a lot of IMDb "trivia" is fake. Second of all, if they had really wanted the witch in that movie, then they would have put the witch in the movie. Ever heard of a second take? Or a third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, etc. etc. etc. take?
What are you saying? If the actors missed filming something they were supposed to shoot, then the directors would have just had them film the scene over again.
On set Heather and Josh were really arguing as they did get lost, Josh kept complaining on set and how he wanted to leave with his other friends to go to a concert or event so they scrapped him out and that was shortly after he missed his mark of catching the crew member as the "witch" or "ghost" Heather saw.

This response shows you know nothing about how that film was made.
I hate to be the one to tell you this (after 20 years of the films release) But the actors reactions were real....They can't redo takes lol. They were genuinely running away screaming with fear, they can't just go back n do it again...
This has been confirmed by the filmmakers. They had someone offscreen wearing a ski mask and a white robe/dress, and Mike was supposed to turn the camera to see it after Heather says "What the *beep* is that?" They didn't realize that Mike missed it until after they were done.
Not true. Nothing was meant to be seen in the original. From the get-go they knew they were going for dread, not shock, and having something like that could ruin the atmosphere.
It was a crew member dressed in thermal underwear from head to toe (even his face covered). In the darkness it would've looked like a white, human shaped silhouette. Kind of a ghostly apparition of sorts but I don't know if it was intended to be the witch or not. Unfortunately the image failed to be captured on video and so we never see what Heather sees when she screams "What the *beep* is that?" Something was supposed to be shown, though.
The Witch was never meant to be revealed during the original movie and people assume it was the Blair Witch doing the offing. It is left up to the viewer to decide. I have my own theories.
I'm laughing so hard at everyone saying "No, IMDb is lying," "they never meant to show anything in the original"
Watch some interviews. Heather, Josh, Mike, Eduardo Sanchez AND Daniel Myrick have all confirmed that they fully intended to show something during the scene when they run away from the campsite at night.
The Titanic sinks, Bruce Willis is a ghost, and Rosebud is a sled
Yeah, Heather mentioned in a cast interview she attended back in 2014 (it's on youtube) that they had a guy 'wrapped in gauze', trying to be scary off to the side who they were supposed to shoot.
However, whether we were supposed to see the witch still remains a mystery since, even if they had got the shot, Myrick and Sanchez could have still looked at it in editing and gone, "Hmmm, probably would be scarier not to see anything." All we know is that it was something they had considered. They had gotten 19 hours of usable footage to edit, so who knows what kind of stories could be told within all that that didn't make it into the final film.
Additionally, if they intend to milk this franchise for all it's worth, how about releasing all that footage for the hardcore TWP fan? 20th anniversary is coming up. I know must of it is probably them just goofing around or whatever, but would still be interesting to pick through.

There's already a petition for them to release an extended cut.

Crazy how the filmmakers and cast all confirm this info and still people wanna believe it is untrue lol. The Blair Witch has multiple forms, and the 'white silhouette' of her WAS supposed to be seen in the original.
Was the man in white necessarily supposed to be the witch though? Could just be something or someone she conjured, much like the laughing children. I also read that during that scene they were gonna have multiple people dressed in white moving around in the trees to create the illusion of ghosts. They either filmed it and didn't like how it looked or they scrapped the idea before it was filmed.
