The scariest scene (spoilers)

I didn't really find this movie particularly scary, but one scene really freaked me out... and it had nothing to do with the Blair Witch. I'm talking about the scene where Lisa is digging through that tunnel under the house. I'm really claustrophobic and just the thought of being trapped like that was frightening.

What made it even more nerve racking is when you hear the witch opening the door to come down after her.

I had to look away. The Descent and As Above, So Below affected me the same way. The tunnel in Blair Witch with the noises was very intense. Probably one of the better scenes in the movie due to its effectiveness.

I've had 3 MRI's done. One time I had to be pulled out because I began to panic.

reply

Oh, that sounds awful. I've thankfully never had an MRI before.

the thing that creeped me out the most is the tree! we see it at the beginning when they are explaining about the lightening burning it from the inside, then when the girl is outside the house it's behind her, it's the pointy bits at the top made it look really figurative almost like it was wearing a crown. Gave me the chills

frosties are just cornflakes for people that can't face reality

Very uncomfortable, reminded me of The Descent. If she had actually got properly stuck that would have been even more disturbing. When you hear the witch coming after her and her face is in close up, I kept waiting for her to be dragged out backwards by her feet but instead she escapes (temporarily) which was a bit of a let down.

The tunnel scene definitely gave me anxiety. I thought Lisa was going to be pulled out the entire time, but since it was a tiny space it kinda worked to her advantage.

Definitely the tunnel scene and the scene of Lisa running into the house to find James and being chased by the witch, pretty much the last 10 minutes of the film.

reply

The whole ending inside the house was epic. It's realism. Lisa sees the witch and runs full speed upstairs. Unfortunately no place to hide since the witch has been stuck in the woods for over 200 years.

reply

Yeah, that was pretty intense. 

reply

Yeah, that peaked my anxiety a tad bit but nothing else really scared me... one scene kinda peaked my anxiety again but i felt they fell flat and kinda disappointed me... if i can figure out how to hide it behind a spoiler tag, i will post it (sorry, still figuring things out)

reply

You can't do the spoiler tag on mobile, but if you're on a computer just highlight the portion of your post that is a spoiler and then click the Spoiler button directly above the text area.

I agree. I had a similar reaction to that scene. As for being scary like the first film I primarily just found the last twenty minutes or so to be pretty scary.

The tunnel scene didn't really bother me because nothing happened in the end and I just had a feeling it wouldn't. The only scenes that I found scary were the early scenes with noises in the woods and the characters going to investigate. It kept me on edge for a little bit because of the anticipation. Once all hell is let loose, I didn't find any of it scary anymore until about the last 5 minutes. Although some of it was still enjoyable though.

I have a lot of nightmares about tunnels and don?t use small elevators etc. so I was really anxious when the scene began (The Descent nearly killed me!)
But BW2 managed to make even tunnels seem boring to me.
I was just waiting for Lisa getting dragged from behind and wondered they didn't do this clichee...
