Now that we're in the final season, what are your hopes/predictions for the ending/characters?

My friend and I were having this conversation the other day. He was saying that he hopes everyone dies and the very last shot is of thousands of walkers roaming the streets.

This show has been 99% dark, grim, foreboding and depressing. Even though I'm 99% sure the ending will be very much the same, I wish for the ultimate happy ending.

The following is my farfetched hope for a conclusion to this series. Keep in mind that you will probably roll your eyes reading it.

This is TWD, so not everyone can survive. I'm really hoping Gabriel lives on with his step daughter Coco because I'm a Gabriel fan. We already know Ezekiel is on his way out. I'm assuming Rosita, Daryl, Carol, Jerry, Aaron, Alden, Magna, Yumiko, Luke, Elijah will also die whether it be by zombie or reapers or some other enemy.

I hope that whoever picked up Rick in that helicopter brought him to some big safe zone, where they have the top of the line scientists, & doctors who will come up with a cure. Not a cure that will bring back any dead to life or anything, but a cure that will stop any more zombies being created.

Michonne will be reunited with Rick, RJ & Judith. They will live happily ever after and have more kids of their own. And yes I am hoping that Rick, AKA Andrew Lincoln will be back in the series finale. One can only hope.

Eugene will finally find Stephanie (The real Stephanie - Who knows if that woman we're seeing now is actually Stephanie) and they will be together.

Maggie will live on with her son, Hershel. Then maybe get jiggy with Frost.

When it comes to Negan, it's very hard to say what exactly will happen. I hope for a reunion between Negan and Lydia, and for them to have some sort of father/daughter relationship, but I'm thinking Negan will probably die and Lydia will survive.

I want Princess to die because she annoys me and I think she's a stupid character, but I have a feeling she will live.

I think Kelly and Connie will be reunited, just in time for Connie to witness Daryl being shot or stabbed to death by Pope or something, and then Kelly might die right after that somehow, and Connie will survive. Virgil will also die in this scenario somehow because he arrived with Connie, but who gives a shit about that dude.

All of the reapers will most likely die, including Leah and Pope, and a lot of the commonwealth will die, but I have no predictions of how this will all go down.

This is obviously wrong, but I think this would all be really cool if it happened, even in an alternate universe.

I hope Negan survives, he's the sole reason I've kept watching the show for several seasons after the crappy war between the saviours and the heroes. I don't care for rest of the characters. Oh yes, and explanation for the mystery helicopters required.

Problem is if the Carol and daryl spin off is happening then I'd presume they'd have to live. As someone else mentioned in a post about it if they set it in the past it probably wouldn't work as much because we'd know they would have to survive which ruins the suspense

I don't see that working at all. Any episodes where Daryl or Carol are being focused on is dull and boring. That show would suck.

I think they worked earlier but not as well now.

The problem for me is the last ones like this has been happening when more important stuff was happening. For example the last few ones of the last series where low-key due to covid restrictions so it's understandable but there where more important stories that got ignored due to this.
