Why did Carol and Ezekiel break up?

?!?

reply

Because they lost their fake son.

LOL. In the real world that is very common and very sad. I've seen it several times in my life. Couple loses a child and within 2 years they are divorced. If you're bored look it up.

what r u babbling on about? who said that never happens? I gave him the answer from the script. also this was posted 6 months ago weirdo.

But do you know how a worm forks?

Do you know how a corn storm

They heal from their loss in very different ways. Carol needs to be with her friends, but she knows Ezekiel needs to be away from them for a while because they make him angry.

You would think that kind of loss would bring couples together but it's very common for the loss of a child (and she loved Henry, adopted or not, as much as she loved Sophia) to come between them.

I guess for some people the loss is too great to have a remainder around of what has been lost..and for Carol the loss just signifies the charade she believed of really living a happy and normal family life.
Without Henry it doesn't work.

The one couple I know of who lost a young child were actually brought together, so to speak, following their loss. That loss somehow made their marriage stronger.

reply

It can go either way. If one of the couple wallows in their own grief and neglects the other in that critical time, or if one parent actually blames the other for the child's death, the marriage can disintegrate.

What I got from the conversation between him and Daryl was that Ezekiel blames Daryl for what happened to Henry, perhaps because he made the decision to bring Lydia with him - yes, they all voted to accept her, people aren't always logical about these things. But later Carol said something to Daryl, to the effect that Ezekiel blamed him because he couldn't let himself blame her. There was a few months' gap between the second to last and final episodes so we don't really know all of what transpired.

reply

Yeah I thought it was a bit forced just to create tension in the plot.

reply

I think it's purely a plot device.
With Laurie Holden gone, a lot of Andrea's storylines from the comics were shunted over to Michonne. Therefore they had Carol taking what was Michonne's story in the comics. Now with Danai leaving they need to put someone in play to take over the upcoming storylines.

reply

From what I saw on the Season 10 premiere, they are definitely shifting Michonne's storyline over to Carol.

reply

maybe a back story on this?
