Wouldn't nails in Lucille be more efficient than barbwire?

Just seems to me it would be more practical to have Lucille with nails sticking out of her than barbwire. Nails would actually penetrate the skull and hit the brain, barbwire just tears flesh.

I don't think Lucille was designed to be an effective melee weapon against walkers. It's mainly designed to administer Negan's brand of brutal justice as a warning to others. It's NOT meant to kill quickly.

I think nails would tend to stick in the flesh and make it harder to pull out if you need to use it repeatedly against a lot of walkers or even humans.
Barbed wire has smaller 'teeth' so can be used a lot faster.
