Dream sequence with Negan?

What did you guys think of that? When we were seeing these glimpses of the future....I assume they were Carl's visions what did you think about smiling Negan being there gardening with everyone?

reply

I think it was more of Carls' "everyone will live happily together and no one is irredeemable" dreaming.

So you know....stupid.

reply

Well it seems like Carl's death changes Rick decision on killing Negan though he would be in the jail cell for sometime.

reply

It looks like they set up for this a while ago with Morgan building the cell back in season 6.

reply

considering Negan clown still alive in the comics these flashforwards seem to be more likely true.
Way to go writers!!!

Means Negan is likely going to survive this season and eventually be apart of the community (like the comics).

reply

Yeah, the guy that sadistically enjoyed pulverizing the heads of their loved ones while cracking jokes and burned off the faces of men he enjoyed taunting as he immorally held their wives through coercion... is really a swell guy...gonna be the Mr Rogers of the neighborhood.
Believe it or not I think they're banking on making him the lead in a few seasons when everyone else finally jumps off..They're going to try to soften him up.
But for me he's too extreme to explain it all away.
They're not going to be able to sell this to me.

reply

Oh yeah, definitely TPTB are going for a Negan lead.

reply

And will it work for you?

reply

NO WAY!! I despise the tv Negan and JDM makes him a buffoon. At least, in the comics, he behaves , well, comic book-like.

As I have said before, when Andrew Lincoln leaves, so will I. This is Rick's story.

reply

I actually like Simon more. Go figure.

reply

He's not going to be the lead for the simple fact that even the characters who don't want him dead are never gonna fully trust him, and neither will the audience. What Carl's dream didn't have was someone with a rifle on Negan whenever he is outside, but that's likely what the situation would be when the war is over, if he is not killed. Characters like Maggie, Rosita, Dwight will always want him dead, and that will be a major point of conflict if Rick decides to keep him alive. The comics tried to make him a sympathetic character as well, everything they showed of Negan after the war was meant to make the reader believe he is genuinely trying to earn their trust. Whenever another character questions his motives, he is able to make a decent argument for himself, but in the back of everyone's mind is always the things he has done in the past. Obviously this is going somewhere, but not anywhere close to Negan being the lead character.

well the notes Carl wrote, ask both Negan and his dad to stop fighting and be peaceful. maybe that is why his dream had Negan there. Rick and Negan stopped fighting and everyone lived in peace
