Rick was so stupid in the fight with Negan

First of all when he knocked Negan down to the ground he got on him and hit him with the end of the handle on the bat, i mean cause that would do more damage than the end with the barbwire wrapped around it right? I mean he could have killed Negan right then and there with one big swing to the side of his head with the barbwire end.

Then he grabs the gun and Negan pushes him out the window, and instead of standing up and trying to shoot Negan with the gun he just grabbed he thought it was best to just run away. He had a gun, Negan had a bat and the guy with the gun runs away....

Ludicrous, and buys JDM more time as the buffoon.

Total gape at that point.

You're watching too much porn.

Well, of course! You can't kill Negan off like that! Where would the show be without Negan!

Sarcasm aside, the writers on the show are too afraid (or too inept) to imagine a show without a charismatic villain that nobody seems to want to kill when given the opportunity to. So much believable and compelling drama can be created from this premise, and it gets tiresome that there HAS to be another "crazier than the last crazy" villain to topple a barrier against.

He's right there, and we've got 30 guns pointed at him...and we do want to kill him. How about we shoot him, and end this dispute right now? Hehe...I hate that the writers created that situation, and never seemed to consider what kind of drama could have been created if they had killed Negan off right there. At the very least, it would have felt a ton more organic to have a crazy lieutenant carry the torch with their own personal motivations to do so, and it would have inadvertently been "shocking" tv material.

Although I like Negan as a villain, I have not been a fan of how often he's been exposed to an assassination. There are too many times in the last season where he should have realistically been killed, which is weird, because the writers spent so much time making it seem like this guy never left his cave.
