Ryan is a good, occasionally great actor. Margo robbie is an ok, occasionally good actress. Nobody else in this movie is exactly an acting powerhouse, even America, but they need the latin diversity. Gosling got the nod because he was the only good thing about this movie. Not saying Margo was terrible, just not spectacular. Besides, the Academy Awards haven't actually been about the best quality films for a long...if it ever was.
