Neo-liberal 'paradise'.

Anyone else think this during the 'alien' city / whatever scenes?

Quite hilarious, and a bit scary when you realize that there are idiots out there who would want to live in a world like that.

Trolling or stupid?
Impossible to tell.

Either way, the responses are hilarious. People seeing "liberal" or "conservative" motives in all movies crack me up, as do the people who respond to these threads with their indignant, self-righteous comments. Too funny!

No, because I think an argument could be made either way.

Because the aliens are soooo weak and don't rule with guns or with force, but by "converting" you could be a metaphor for religion, and we all know liberals hate religion.

Or, you could as the aliens represent "big city" ideas and technology, while the last vestige of humans represent "small town" community and farming/tradition.

OR you could say the aliens are spineless liberals since they appear to be anti-gun, anti-violence, and anti-killing even when it appears the humans are killing them.

But on the other hand though the humans are just as weak. They don't appear to have any desire to take the fight to the aliens because they don't appear to be smart enough to come up with guerrilla tactics to hurt and demoralize their enemy. They are also spineless pansies.

With that in mind, I don't think this film was written with politics in mind, it is just badly written period.

Don't try to cash in love, that check will always bounce.
